Publisher review:SpikeTrain displays and analysis electrophysiological data. SpikeTrain is a GUI summarizing several functions for the analysis of electrophysiological data. It provides multiselection of data, so a whole bunch of data can be analysed at once. For spike discrimination the user can select an upper and a lower threshold .Analysis contains peristimulus time histogram (PSTH), peristimulus phase histogram (PSPH) and the corresponding rasterplots (thx Rajiv). Phaselocking and synchronization of events is calculated as well as interspike frequencies and spike count.The whole statistic can be exported as spreadsheet.Calculated values can be exported to base workspace, so they are available for further calculations in Matlab.With the SON library (available from the file exchange) CEDs Spike2 data can easily converted into .mat files, with which SpikeTrain works. The user can set several parameter, like frequencies, offset, bin width and channel allocation. Requirements: ยท MATLAB Release: R2007a
